Testing MATE git branch

We provide MATE packages built from git master trees (use at your risk!) for some distributions. If you discover any bugs please report them in the relevant GitHub issue tracker. If you have any questions about installing or using MATE then join us in the #mate IRC channel on Freenode.

Arch Linux

Add the following to pacman.conf, it must be the first enabled repository in pacman.conf so put it above [testing].

SigLevel = Optional TrustAll
Server = http://dev.mate-desktop.org/archlinux/$arch

You can find more details below:

deb http://dev.mate-desktop.org/debian jessie main

Use rawhide.

At the moment the mate-overlay allows to build with both gtk3 and gtk2. Although MATE gtk3 will build it has still many bugs and Marco does not work at all. So if you want a working MATE desktop disable the gtk3 USE flag.

To get MATE 1.7 you will need to unmask. Copy the 1.7 section contents from package.mask into package.unmask.

deb http://dev.mate-desktop.org/ubuntu saucy main

Build the packages from master branch in github
